3-(Octyloxy)propylamine is an amine, a product in which one or more hydrogen atoms in an ammonia molecule have been replaced by a hydrocarbyl group. 3- (Octyloxy) propylamine is widely present in the biological world and have extremely important physiological and biological activities. The molecular formula of 3-(Octyloxy)propylamine is C11H25NO and the molecular weight is 187.3223. Its density is 0.873 g/cm 3 . 3- (Octyloxy) propylamine is soluble in water, ethanol, and 2-propanol. Contact with it may irritate skin, eyes and mucous membranes. It may be toxic if ingested, inhaled or absorbed through the skin. 3-(Octyloxy)propylamine is used in the manufacture of other chemicals. 3- (Octyloxy) propylamine has corrosion-inhibiting/corrosion-inhibiting properties. It can be dispersed. It also has emulsifying, hydrophobizing and bactericidal properties.

3-(Octyloxy)propylamine is toxic. Inhalation, ingestion or skin contact with material may cause severe injury or death. Contact with molten substance may cause severe burns to skin and eyes. Avoid any skin contact. Effects of contact or inhalation may be delayed. Fire may produce irritating, corrosive and/or toxic gases. Runoff from fire control or dilution water may be corrosive and/or toxic and cause pollution.

3-(Octyloxy)propylamine has the following applications/functions:

1. 3-(Octyloxy)propylamine is mainly used as non-asbestos roof coatings, tile adhesives and cements, oil based caulks, pipe coatings, automotive body sealers and fillers, automotive coatings etc.

2. 3-(Octyloxy)propylamine is widely used in various surfactants. 3- (Octyloxy) propylamine has fixed hydrophilic and lipophilic groups, which can be aligned on the surface of the solution. It can significantly reduce the surface tension of the target solution.

3. 3-(Octyloxy)propylamine is a chemical and compound that act as corrosion inhibitors to prevent or slow down the corrosion of materials.

4. 3-(Octyloxy)propylamine can change the hydrophobicity of the mineral surface and make the floating mineral particles adhere to the air bubbles. So it can be used as mineral flotation collector.

5. 3-(Octyloxy)propylamine can also be used as fuel additives, lubricating oil additives, etc.
