Curcumin
Product Details
Name: Curcumin
CAS: 458-37-7
Feature:
Curcumin was first isolated from turmeric in 1870 as a polyphenol compound with low relative molecular weight. In 1910, the chemical structure of bifferoylmethane was clarified, and then obvious progress was made in the study of its physiological and pharmacological effects. With the deepening of the research on Curcumin, it has been found that curcumin has a wide range of pharmacological activities, such as anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidation, lipid regulation, anti-virus, anti infection, anti-tumor, anticoagulant, anti liver fibrosis, anti atherosclerosis and so on.
Curcumin has the following applications/functions:
anticancer, antiinflammatory,Prevention of Alzheimer’s disease
1. Curcumin has anticancer effect. It is a plant polyphenol extracted from turmeric and the most important active component of turmeric. Recent studies have not only proved the traditional effects of turmeric, but also revealed some new pharmacological effects, such as anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidation, scavenging oxygen free radicals, anti human immunodeficiency virus, protecting liver and kidney, anti fibrosis, anti-cancer and anti-cancer, which may be related to its inhibition of nuclear factors- κ B is related to the activation and expression of transcription factors such as activator protein-1, and there are no obvious toxic and side effects.
2. Curcumin has anti-inflammatory effect. Inflammation is a complex process, which is caused by cell infection and / or tissue damage. A series of chain reactions eventually lead to the rapid development of some chronic diseases. Since inflammation plays an important role in most chronic diseases, anti-inflammatory drugs are needed to prevent it. Although some different steroidal and non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs can be used to treat inflammatory diseases, most of them have side effects. The study found that the anti-inflammatory activity of curcumin can be compared with steroidal drugs and non steroidal drugs, such as indomethacin and butazone, and is safe in most cases.
3. Curcumin can help prevent Alzheimer’s disease. Many studies have proved that the accumulation of amyloid protein in the brain is one of the main causes of Alzheimer’s disease. Animal experiments at Duke University in the United States show that curcumin in curry can not only decompose amyloid protein in the brain of experimental rats, but also prevent the formation of this protein. Researchers point out that eating curry often may have a similar effect on people, which may help prevent Alzheimer’s disease.
