Erucamidopropyl hydroxysultaine has good compatibility with anionic, cationic,nonionic and zwitterionic surfactant. Erucamidopropyl hydroxysultaine is an amphoteric surfactant with 22 long carbon chains, which has the advantages of acid and alkali resistance, high temperature resistance, hard water resistance, etc., which are not found in similar products with low carbon chains.

Erucamidopropyl hydroxysultaine can form micelles gels with different strengths in salt solution or acid solution. The viscosity increases as the PH increasing. Erucamidopropyl hydroxysultaine has a very low critical micelle concentration and very low surface tension. Erucamidopropyl hydroxysultaine can form micelles at very low concentrations, and it still exhibits a relatively high viscosity at temperatures as high as 80 degrees, high hard water and high alkalinity. Erucamidopropyl hydroxysultaine has excellent calcium resistance and is suitable for formation water with high hardness.

Erucamidopropyl hydroxysultaine has the following applications/functions:

1. In oil field production, erucamidopropyl hydroxysultaine plays a very important role in opening up the cracks in underground rock formations, driving crude oil from the ground to the ground, and dredging the pipelines in the rock formations. The acid system automatically becomes sticky with acid rock reaction, which has the effect of severing acidization, and does not cause secondary damage to the formation.

2. Due to the extremely low critical micelle concentration of erucamidopropyl hydroxysultaine, micelles and cross-linked states are formed at extremely low concentrations. Therefore, despite its extremely low concentration, due to its extremely low critical micelle concentration, micelles can be formed, and the micelles are intertwined to form a jelly-like shape. Due to its viscosity and certain fluidity in the pipeline for dredging underground rock formations, erucamidopropyl hydroxysultaine can open up the underground pipeline to facilitate the discharge of crude oil.

3. Erucamidopropyl hydroxysultaine can be used in acid fracturing with functions of mucidic acid, slow acid and self-turning acid. Erucamidopropyl hydroxysultaine resists to high temperature.

4. The molecular structure of  erucamidopropyl hydroxysultaine with erucic acid contains a long carbon chain, which can not only effectively reduce the oil/water interfacial tension, but also form micellar gels with different strengths in salt solutions or acid and alkali solutions. It can be used for acid thickening, cleaning fracturing fluid, etc. Therefore,  erucamidopropyl hydroxysultaine can be formulated into a variety of oil and gas field working fluids with excellent performance, and there is a huge demand in oil and gas field development.

5. Compared with block silicone oil 9906 and copolymerized modified block silicone oil, the fabrics treated with amino silicone are more hydrophilic and softer.
