Inositol hexanicotinate
Name: Inositol hexanicotinate
CAS: 6556-11-2
Feature:
Inositol hexanicotinate is marketed in the United States as a “no-flush niacin” dietary supplement. Flushing, in physiology, essentially means that epidermal tissues have become reddened, such as when the skin is irritated from the histamine responses related to an allergic reaction, or from recent physical exercise, or even from anger or embarrassment. This form of niacin is supposed to reduce or prevent flushing by being broken down into the metabolites niacin (nicotinic acid) and inositol at a slow rate. Inositol hexanicotinate is used for blood circulation problems, including a painful response to cold, especially in the fingers and toes (Raynaud syndrome). It is also used for high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and many other conditions, but there is no good scientific evidence to support these uses.
Inositol hexanicotinate has the following applications/functions:
- Inositol hexanicotinate is used to treat acne. According to reports, some people use Inositol hexanicotinate to treat acne patients. The effect is significant, and the skin lesions can be subsided or partially subsided. The total effective rate is 96.6%, which is better than that of vitamins (A, B6, C) and other treatments for the control group. Usage: ① 0.4g Inositol hexanicotinate each time, orally, 3/d, 14d as a course of treatment, continuous medication for 2 to 3 courses. ②10% Inositol hexanicotinate ointment Appropriate amount, externally applied to the affected area, 3/d, 1 month is a course of treatment. External application of this product may cause facial flushing and local slight tingling sensation, and the continued application can disappear by itself.
- Inositol hexanicotinate is a mild peripheral vasodilator for the treatment of acne vulgaris. It is often used clinically to treat hyperlipidemia and coronary heart disease. According to reports, Xu Jiasen used inositol niacin to treat 50 patients with acne vulgaris, including 32 males and 18 females, aged 1635 years old, and the course of the disease was 3 months to 8 Years, satisfactory results were achieved. Treatment: Oral Inositol hexanicotinate, 0.4g each time, 3/d, warm boiled water, 30d is a course of treatment. Generally, 1 to 3 courses of continuous medication are used. No other drugs are used during the treatment. Therapeutic effect: Among the 50 cases, 20 cases were basically cured, 24 cases were effective, 5 cases were effective, and 1 case was ineffective. The total effective rate was 98%. The average effective time was 14.5 days, and the average basic recovery time was 26.5 days. The mechanism of inositol niacin is that the occurrence of acne is related to excessive free fatty acids in the skin, and inositol niacin may reduce free fatty acids in the skin.
