Astragalus is a commonly used traditional Chinese medicine. It has been used for more than 2000 years, with remarkable curative effect and enjoys a high reputation at home and abroad. According to the Pharmacopoeia of the people’s Republic of China (1995 edition), the original plant of astragalus extract is the dry root of legume Astragalus mongholicus or membranous Astragalus. Perennial herbs, 50 ~ 80 cm tall. Taproot deep and long, rod-shaped, slightly woody. The dry root is cylindrical, with thick upper end and thin lower end. Both ends are flat, 20 ~ 70cm long and 1 ~ 3cm thick. Astragalus polysacharin is a water-soluble heteropolysaccharide extracted, concentrated and purified from the dry roots of the legume Astragalus mongholicus or Astragalus membranaceus. It is light yellow, fine powder, uniform and free of impurities, and has hygroscopicity.
