Tea saponin is a sugar compound extracted from the seeds of Camellia plants. It belongs to saponins and is a natural non-ionic surfactant. Tea saponin is a light yellow fine powder, which can be used as wetting agent and suspending agent in solid pesticides, synergist and spreading agent in emulsion pesticides, or directly as biological pesticides.
As a pesticide wetting agent, tea saponin can improve the wetting performance and suspension rate (≥ 75%) of wettable powder. As a natural non-ionic surfactant, when added to pesticides, it can significantly improve the physical and chemical properties of pesticide solution, increase the effective volume of pesticide on the target, and help to give full play to the efficacy of pesticides. Therefore, the use effect can be improved. As a pesticide wetting agent, it has the outstanding advantages of fast wetting speed, strong dispersion and pH5.5-6.5 neutral acid, which will not cause pesticide decomposition and is conducive to pesticide storage. These are unmatched by synthetic surfactants. Tea saponin has been widely used as a wetting agent for pesticides such as Paclobutrazol, Isoprocarb, aluminum ethylphosphate and Tricyclazole.
Tea saponin is an excellent additive for water or soluble powder pesticides. It can improve the physical properties of pesticides, improve the adhesion of drug solution on the surface of organisms or plants, and play a synergistic role in pesticides. Tea saponin can degrade automatically without toxicity. It will not affect the chemical properties of pesticides in the separation process, which is conducive to the storage of pesticides. Tea saponin has been widely used in herbicide glyphosate and insecticide insecticidal, especially in glyphosate, which gives full play to the excellent properties of glyphosate, improves its adhesion and moisture absorption on plants, and improves the permeability of liquid medicine. Moreover, due to the good biological activity of tea saponin, it can also improve the biological activity of glyphosate.
Because of its good biological activity, tea saponin has obvious synergistic effect on the control of hanging tube aphid, Plutella xylostella and citrus Panonychus mite, respectively, when mixed with insecticide, malathion, methomyl, Kungfu pyrethrin, nisolan, Triadimefon, nicotine, dimethoate and rotenone.
Tea saponin has certain stomach toxicity and strong repellent effect on cabbage worm, and the higher the concentration, the stronger the repellent effect, which has a certain effect on preventing cabbage from being damaged by cabbage worm. It is used as an insecticide on garden flowers to control underground pests, such as ground tigers, nematodes and so on. It also has a good toxic effect on longevity snails, snails and snails endangering rice.
