Oleylamidopropyl Betaine is a zwitterionic surfactant. Oleylamidopropyl Betaine is cationic in acidic medium and non-ionic in alkaline medium. Oleylamidopropyl Betaine has excellent stability under both acidic and alkaline conditions. Oleylamidopropyl Betaine has good compatibility with various types of dyes, surfactants and cosmetic raw materials. It has high surface/interfacial activity, temperature resistance and hard water resistance.

Oleylamidopropyl Betaine has good antistatic, softening, foam boosting, foam stabilization and detergency properties. It has more obvious thickening effect than alkyl betaine such as CAB. Oleylamidopropyl Betaine has low irritation and can effectively reduce the irritation of anionic surfactants in detergents. It also has the characteristics of sterilization, calcium soap dispersion, and easy biodegradation.

It is electrically neutral but carries positive and negative charges on different atoms in an aqueous solution. Depending on the composition and conditions of pH value, oleylamidopropyl betaine can have anionic or cationic properties. In the presence of acids, it will accept the hydrogen ions but it will donate hydrogen ions to the solution in the presence of bases, which balances the pH. Such actions make buffer solutions which resist change to the pH. Under strong acidic conditions, the viscosity of the solution can increase sharply, and oleylamidopropyl betaine can be used for thickening acidizing fluid in different occasions.

1. Oleylamidopropyl Betaine is mainly used in shampoos, it can make the hair softer, easier to comb, fine foam and rich in luster.

2. Oleylamidopropyl Betaine can also be used as a cleaning agent for hard surfaces such as tableware, toilets, and building exterior walls. The addition of oleylamidopropyl betaine to the cleaning agent will thicken, reduce irritation and synergize.

3. Oleylamidopropyl Betaine is used as antistatic agent, softener, etc. in textile, fiber and other fields.
