Pigment red 179 is a perylene pigment, which mainly refers to a class of perylene tetracarboxylic acid diimide compounds obtained by

condensation of perylene tetracarboxylic acid or perylene tetracarboxylic anhydride with different amine compounds.

Red to brown perylene pigments are a kind of high-performance organic pigments,

which have high resistance to organic solvents and thermal stability, excellent light fastness, climate fastness, color penetration resistance and migration fastness.

They are widely used as high-grade industrial coatings such as automobile original finish and repair paint, as well as high-grade plastic colorants of vinyl polymers, polyethylene, polypropylene and fiber plastics.
