Special Design for Cinnamaldehyde - Chrysin – Puyer
Special Design for Cinnamaldehyde - Chrysin – Puyer Detail:
Name: Chrysin
CAS:480-40-0
Feature:
Chrysin is soluble in alkali hydroxide solution, slightly soluble in ether, ethanol and chloroform, but insoluble in water. It has a high content in propolis. Chrysin has broad pharmacological and physiological activities such as antioxidant, anti-tumor, anti-cancer, anti-viral, anti-hypertensive, anti-diabetic, anti-bacterial, anti-allergic, etc., and this type of compound is widely distributed in plants and is toxic It is relatively low, so it is a very important resource in the development and research of new drugs.A variety of derivatives obtained by structural modification with chrysin as the lead compound have also shown to have comparable or better pharmacological activities.
Chrysin has the following applications/functions:
- Chrysin has shown cancer chemopreventive activity via induction of apoptosis in a diverse range of human and rat cell types. In most of the cancer cells, chrysin has been shown to induce apoptosis and inhibit proliferation, and is more potent than other tested flavonoids in leukemia cells, where chrysin is likely to act via activation of caspases and inactivation of Akt signaling in the cells.
- Chrysin has been recently shown to be a potent inhibitor of aromatase and of human immunodeficiency virus activation in models of latent infection.
- The antiinflammatory effect of chrysin was found most likely by the inhibition of COX-2 expression and via IL-6 signaling. The neuroinflammatory effect directly connected with improved levels of proinflammatory cytokines and suppression of antiinflammatory cytokines. The antiinflammatory effects of chrysin are associated with inflammatory cytokine regulation. It inhibits the production of inflammatory cytokines such as IFN-c and TNF-α by activating macrophages through the NF-κB pathway. Chrysin could inhibit the serum levels of major inflammatory cytokines, prostaglandin-E2, COX-2, and the activity of NO and the iNOS plasma level. The antiinflammatory process of chrysin was found in acute and chronic models of inflammation.
