Tallow fatty acid is a family of fatty acids derived mainly from animal fat, more particularly of bovine origin. These acids are a mixture of saturated fatty acids (as myristic, palmitic and stearic) and unsaturated (such as palmitoleic, oleic and linoleic). Tallow fatty acid, thanks to the particularity of the presence of its hydroxyl functional group, has a higher polarity than any other similar fatty acid, as well as an obvious higher reactivity. It is also a fatty acid that can be derived much more easily.

Tallow fatty acid is an animal derivative that is used in a wide range of applications including oil field consumption, resins, industrial cleaners, personal care, and in rubber and textile industries. Tallow is a rendered form of beef or mutton fat, and is primarily made up of triglycerides. Tallow is used mainly in producing soap and animal feed. Tallow can be used for the production of bio-diesel in much the same way as oils from plants are currently used. Tallow fatty acid is an increasingly popular alternative due to their versatility, quality and cost-effectiveness compared to conventional substances and media.

Tallow fatty acid has the following applications/fuctions:

1. Tallow fatty acid is mainly used for emulsifier for styrene-butadiene rubber and other polymer emulsion catalyzed polymerization. And it is widely used in the manufacture of fatty alcohols, soaps, synthetic detergents, plasticizers, mold release agents, etc.

2. Tallow fatty acid is often used for different uses or applications in the medical or aesthetic sector, solving problems such as arthritis, relieving areas affected by pain, eliminating dead skin from different areas of our body or even helping to eliminate moles on our skin. It can also be a possible solution to dark circles under the eyes, helping to reduce them with tallow fatty acid.

3. Tallow fatty acid is also used in non-irritating disinfectants, primary sanding agents and metal polishing formulations.
